World Extreme Medicine News

If you read our blog ‘What’s New’ , you’ll know that for 2019, we’re introduced a whole host of new sub-themes to allow you to really get the most out of our conference.

We were super excited to announce that the first sub-theme for 2019 was…

‘Flying Doctors –  the art of aeromedical retrieval and working in the skies‘.

There was the opportunity to join Arvid Schigt of the Royal Flying Doctor Service as he discussed his experiences of working in rural Australia, where the rules of ‘normal’ medicine don’t always exist. Then, you could head to Andrew Parker’s session as he explained how a small team in Maun established a vital aeromedical service, serving in a remote setting where rapid pre-hospital care can mean the difference between life and death.

The essentials:

Who: Arvid Schigt, Andrew Parker.
What: ‘Flying Doctors’.
When: Day 3 (Monday 25th)
Where: Workshops

Join us this year where for the first time in WEM history, we’re hosting a virtual conference (17th & 18th Oct) – so you can be inspired from the comfort of your sofa (or, frankly, from wherever in the world you can get online). Book your place today!
