Want a career in extreme medicine? Of course you do! Luckily for you, we had a whole host of workshops and talks at our 2019 World Extreme Medicine Conference aimed at helping delegates break into the best (we might be bias) industry in the world!
‘Extreme Careers’ – Inspiration from people who’ve done incredible things and how you can get involved!
Delegates heard from #WEM19 Chairperson Cat Davison, as she discussed her less-than-conventional career as a GP in the RAF, exploring the hurdles she overcame as both a woman and a medic to work in the military.
Sophie and Cédric from the International Committee of the Red Cross also spoke and gave the audience the low-down on what it’s like to work for them, as well as how you can get involved.
Plus, one of our hugely popular ‘How to get your First Job’ workshops ran across all 3 days of the conference – led by WEM faculty member Luca Alfatti, where he was joined by a variety of panel guests, each one with tonnes of experience and all eager to provide advice and guidance on how you can forge a successful career in extreme medicine.
