Our list of highly experienced and truly inspirational speakers just kept growing for our 2019 World Extreme Medicine Conference, and this next duo was no exception as we welcomed Esmita Charani and Aula Abbara to join us on the mainstage!
Esmita is a Senior Lead Pharmacist at Imperial College London as part of the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit for Healthcare Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance. When it comes to her academic work, Esmita’s focus has been on behaviour change interventions in antimicrobial stewardship and the role of mobile health tech.

Aula also has loads of humanitarian work under her belt, having volunteered with the Syrian Medical Society since 2012, teaching healthcare workers in Turkey, providing medical care in refugee camps in Lebanon and working in Sierra Leone during the Ebola response.
