Laura is currently an international health and development consultant at Save the Children and an elected member of the British Global and Travel Health Association and World Extreme Medicine.
Laura graduated from Kings College University, London with a BSc. in adult nursing before pursuing a Diploma in Tropical Nursing from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and an MSc. in Global Health and Development from University College London.
Laura has a demonstrated history of working in the international NGO sector. Her roles include international health advisor for VSO in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa; medical officer and expedition medic for Operation Wallacea and Raleigh International in Central and South America, and clinical educator and nurse for The Leprosy Mission and Doctors of the World in Nepal and the UK.
With her passion to inspire and educate, Laura is an advocate for the continued integration of nurses within expedition and wilderness medicine. She contributes to the production of evidence-based guidance and standards in travel and global health with a special interest in tropical and infectious diseases, global mental health and safeguarding.
In her spare time, Laura is a keen adventurer, climber, and mountaineer.
