Katya is currently Medical Lead at Raleigh International. She is an Adult and Pediatric ICU and Emergency nurse for the NHS. She has experience delivering Expeditions on the ground for Raleigh in Nepal (multiple), Nicaragua and Costa Rica (a few) and Tanzania (some). Katya also has significant experience supporting medics remotely and in person in her current role. Humanitarian contracts in Iraqi Kurdistan and Lesvos Greece, working in Primary Health Clinics for IDPS and Refugees.
After reading “An Imperfect Offering” by James Orbinski Katya was inspired to pursue a career in humanitarian medicine. She has found Expedition medicine to be an excellent opportunity to work with and mentor professionals taking their first brave steps out of the traditional western health care systems. Katya loves seeing people developing and gaining confidence to reach their potential.
