Session Title Extreme veterinary medicine – together working towards One Health
Ioana was a stereotypical “I-want-to-become-a-vet-when-I-grow-up” child and, to her parents’ despair, she managed to make it happen. She specialised in Conservation Medicine with her DVM degree in Vienna and obtained a masters in Conservation Medicine with the University of Edinburgh. She has travelled a bit around the world with different roles in Europe, Middle East, South America, the Caribbean, and South Asia, in order to work with some of the world’s most amazing and endangered animal species. Currently, she is a veterinary surgeon in an exotic/zoo animal practice in East Anglia. She tries to be constantly on the move, and she embraces change and diversity in her life, as well as the occasional adrenaline rush. She scuba dives, rock climbs, paraglides, practice thai boxing and loves a good on/off road adventure motorbike tour. But what really drives her is the thought that she am making (even a small) difference to the world through her work.
