Session Title A year in Patagonia – Point of Care Ultrasound in limited-resource settings
Felippe is a Chilean emergency physician. As a junior doctor, he joined the air force, worked with the Special Forces unit, and got deployed to the UN peace mission in Haiti as a HEMS officer.
A true nomadic adventurer who has lived in Vienna, cycled the Amalfi coast, crossed the Bealach Na Bà during a wind storm, and moved to the beautiful Valparaiso. It was working there that his passion for emergency medicine, resuscitation, and airway management became evident.
He has spent the last 15 months in Patagonia, sharing his time between the regional flight retrieval service and the ED. Here, he has implemented a training programme in point of care ultrasound, as he believes it to be the future of clinical assessment.
