Session: Planning Your Career Around Your Adventures

Clare is currently in training in Remote and Rural GP in the Scottish Highlands. She has taken a lot of time out in her career to complete expedition work and also her own adventures. She lives between Fort William and the Chamonix Valley when she’s not travelling and her most recent adventures (all with her husband) include an autonomous cycle trip across the two highest International Highways in the World – the Pamir and Karakoram Highways and a cycle/hiking trip from the summit of Mt Kenya to Kilimanjaro.

They are currently undertaking a traverse of the Great Himalaya and Karakoram Ranges on foot. Clare is passionate about exploring, pushing her limits and inspiring others to do the same. She believes we shouldn’t miss out due to the constraints of a traditional medical career and aims to inspire others to break the mould and make medicine fit around their own dreams.
