Angela completed her Nursing Degree in Portugal in 2010. At the same time, she volunteered with the Portuguese Red Cross doing emergency rescue and response. She moved to the United Kingdom in 2011 where she worked in acute and critical care for four years progressing to outreach for another three years in central London Trusts. During this time, she completed a diploma in critical care and tropical nursing as well as a flight nursing course. She joined UK-MED in 2015, trained for the West Africa Ebola Response and deployed in a disaster training programme to Malawi. Afterwards she deepened her studies completing the European Masters in Disaster Medicine in 2018. Over the past year she worked in a remote camp for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali. She recently moved back to the United Kingdom and joined International SOS to work in the international medical assistance world.
