NOTICE: WEM20 has now moved over to the online arena becoming #VirtualWEM20 – a virtual conference to be held on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th October 2020. Immerse yourself in a WEM online environment where you can be inspired from the comfort of your sofa (or, frankly, from wherever in the world you can get online) over two action-packed days as you encounter the biggest and best extreme medicine content from over 40 speakers. So, unfortunately whilst there won’t be any workshop bookings to be made, you can find our brand new #VirtualWEM20 programme including inspiring panel sessions and fascinating speakers here.
Our #WEM20 conference is promising to be our biggest and boldest one yet! We have a full programme of fantastic theme specific workshops in the breakout rooms and know from experience that they are incredibly popular and sell out extremely quickly. This means securing your attendance at any one of the workshops ahead of the conference is not just recommended but ESSENTIAL – once they’ve gone, they’ve gone!
Here’s everything you need to know to prepare and ensure you are in the best possible position to secure the workshops you want.
So, you have your ticket, what happens next?
Once you’ve confirmed your #WEM20 place, it’s a good idea to start planning out your day(s) using the #WEM20 App (once it launches later this year) where you can search by theme, guest speaker or the days you’re attending. Alternatively, visit the website where workshops are listed by time, date and location.
You might also want to avoid any drama on 19th September and check your login details work (and that you remember them!) – simply head to our conference website and click ‘Account’ to access your profile. You’ll only be able to book workshops once you’ve signed in.
When can I start booking workshops?
All workshops will be on sale from Saturday 19th September at midnight – but be quick, we guarantee these sessions will sell out fast!
The booking window will remain open until Friday 9th October at 9am.
It’s good to note, any sessions taking place in the Biosphere DO NOT need to be booked ahead of the conference as there is enough space for everyone.
How do I book a workshop?
If you’d like to attend any workshops in one of the breakout rooms (those listed in the Salisbury Suite, Hutton Room or Boardroom), then make sure to sign up via the website.
Here is a step by step guide to make a workshop booking:
- Visit the conference website and click ‘Account’ to log into your profile
- Enter your username / email address and password
- Click on ‘Overview’ on the top bar of the homepage
- On the drop down choose ‘3-day programme’ and click on your preferred day
- Click ‘More info’ on your chosen session
- Once ready to confirm, select the Quantity needed and then click ‘Add To Event Cart’
- Then, proceed to registration (or add more workshops to your basket).
- Once you’ve made all your choices, enter your details for the session and hit ‘Proceed to Finalise Registration’ and ‘voila’, you’re booked on! You’ll get an email confirming your place.
Will I be able to attend a session if I don’t book in advance?
All workshops (sessions not in the Biosphere) have limited space and so bookings must be made online ahead of the conference. To avoid disappointment, we recommend booking as soon as possible.
Any workshops with spaces left after the booking window closes will be re-opened for bookings on each morning of the conference, so make sure to pay a visit to our helpful workshop bookings team if there is a session you are interested in attending. However, there is no guarantee that there will be space available, so it’s best to secure your space online during the 2-week booking window.
How much do the workshops cost?
The majority of the workshops are free and included in the cost of your conference ticket. There are a few workshops with costs associated:
Day 1: TBC
Day 2: TBC
Day 3: TBC
These workshops will cost an additional £40 to attend, which covers the cost of materials and additional kit.
