What is the World Extreme Medicine Conference?
The WEM Conference is an exciting platform for medical minds to share experiences, innovations, best practise, promote cross-disciplinary working and generate new research.
The conference focuses on a number of interrelated medical fields: Pre-Hospital, Disaster & Humanitarian, Expedition, Endurance and Extreme Sport, Space and Extreme Medicine. We work with a range of multi-disciplinary partners, and together, offer a programme of fascinating talks from world-renowned experts in their field – from Arctic explorers to vascular surgeons, remote medics to NASA & ESA personnel.
#WEM21 will feature practical plenaries and hands-on workshops that explore field-proven techniques and provide you with medical ‘hacks’ to inspire and enhance your skills. These sessions are designed to help you to become a more effective practitioner of remote medicine and allow you to truly take medicine to the ‘extreme’.
